In my view, it's entirely natural that a healing process is not a continuous period of feeling good. In fact, there are times you might feel as low as you haven’t in a long while. However, this journey of self-discovery makes you more aware, allowing you to feel and see more and by far not just the pleasant aspects of life. Becoming more mindful includes every experiences.
It's alike to the process of healing a physical wound. Sometimes it itches, and you must resist the urge to scratch. At other times, it stings as you disinfect it and eliminate unwanted bacteria that might hinder your progress and most of the time it holds you back and you need to exercise patience in silence. Strangely, it is in these seemingly "negative" moments that true improvement occurs. What a paradox, suffering is bliss.
For me it is important to approach this process with a sense of curiosity and an observational stance. What is happening within me? Why am I doing this? To then consciously choose actions and thoughts that guide you towards a better place.
Think of it as forging a new path through the jungle with a machete, while allowing the old, misleading trails to overgrow and fade away. It requires a significant amount of effort and it isn't always enjoyable.
At times you have to constantly remind yourself to not lose courage, to keep your ultimate goal in mind. To stay committed to your personal path until it becomes smoother and lighter once again. To allow your inner warrior archetype to shine through. Displaying both, grace and grit.
